We believe it’s important to look after the environment — not just at home, but also on holiday.

At Camping De Gouwe Stek, we make conscious choices to reduce our impact and take care of the natural surroundings as much as possible.

☀️ Solar energy

We make use of solar power across the campsite.

• 60 solar panels on our workshop building
• 108 solar panels on the roof of ’t Trefpunt
• A total of 168 panels contributing to our energy use

👉 This helps us generate a significant part of our own electricity in a sustainable way.

♻️ Waste separation & reuse

We actively separate waste on the campsite to reduce our environmental impact.

• Separate collection for glass, paper, cardboard, organic waste, and plastic
• A deposit return system for bottles and cans
• Donations to a good cause at the end of the year

We also reuse materials where possible:

• Egg cartons are collected and reused
• Food leftovers can be given to our chickens

Throughout the campsite, we focus on saving energy wherever possible.

• Energy-saving and LED lighting
• Motion sensors in sanitary buildings
• Lights that automatically switch off when not in use

🚿 Smart use of water & heat

We use solar energy not only for electricity, but also for heating water.

• Solar collectors on multiple buildings
• Solar boilers that preheat water using sunlight
